The name "Effulgence," meaning "to shine brightly," encapsulates Eryn's mission. Her personal struggles with hair care and health fueled her decision to start the business.

"As someone who struggled with hair breakage and endometriosis, I yearned for products that worked naturally without harmful chemicals," she confides. Effulgence specializes in plant-based, chemical-free hair and skincare products designed for unisex usage and tailored for busy individuals aged 30–50.

Eryn's hands-on approach distinguishes her brand. She manages every aspect, from creating formulations to designing labels.

"I want customers to have full transparency about what's in their products and their origins. It's not solely about beauty; it's about nurturing a healthier lifestyle."

Transforming Challenges into Growth Opportunities

Operating a one-woman business presents challenges, but Eryn embraces them as opportunities for innovation.

Effulgence's products are now available in local stores, such as Imagine Gift Shop in Warren, Rhode Island, and Three Gen Love in Westport, Massachusetts.

"Entering these stores wasn't a conventional sales process; the owners were eager to support small businesses like mine," Eryn explains.

Effulgence is also gaining traction online, although Eryn acknowledges that navigating SEO and cultivating an organic following require patience.

"There's a lot of noise with bots, but I prefer authentic connections. Meeting people at events and witnessing their reactions to my products is invaluable."

A Community-Centered Mission

Eryn's vision for Effulgence extends beyond products. She aspires to create a sustainable future through agriculture.

Her garden project aims to cultivate raw materials for her products. "I want to reconnect people with nature and demonstrate its problem-solving capabilities," she says.

Effulgence also tackles broader societal issues, including promoting healthier living among youth through non-profit initiatives. Eryn credits her uncle, the business's co-founder, for inspiring this mission.

After overcoming significant health challenges through a plant-based diet, he motivated Eryn to leverage natural solutions to enhance lives.

Building a Radiant Future

In five years, Eryn envisions Effulgence expanding product categories, providing workshops, and establishing community hubs like farmers' markets.

She also plans to launch a non-profit organization supporting health initiatives in Massachusetts. "I'm driven to build something meaningful that serves my community," she declares.
